Some of you may remember a while back, we held a contest on Facebook for a slogan to advertise our boiled peanut fundraiser for Relay for Life. The response was tremendous! We took the top three finalists and held a vote on our page and the runaway fan favorite was “Buying our boiled peanuts is a SHELL of a way to fight cancer.” Combined with artistic abilities of local designer Michael Dickins, who created the cheerful peanut man strutting across the front– We have a winning design for our fundraiser t-shirt! These babies have sold like hotcakes and we have just a very limited number left. If you would like one of our “special edition” Ts that will give back a portion to the local Relay for Life, give Jason a call at the store to see if he can put one back for you. Sunrise Grocery and River Cabins is proud to be a supporting team of this year’s Relay for Life. Our “boiled peanuts for cancer” fundraiser and t-shirt sales have been very successful. We’ll also be providing United Community Bank with only the *very best* tomatoes to make some delightfully Southern tomato sandwiches at their tent the night of Relay on May 13th. Be sure to stop by and taste what a REAL ‘mater sandwich is supposed to taste like!
Come on out to Relay for Life Union County on May 13 and 14th at Meeks Park for some great food, fun, and festivities. In preparation for the fun-filled weekend, our entire town has been adorned with purple ribbons, purple birthday cupcakes, and purple feet- all to raise money for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. We’ve been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and feel so blessed to be a part of a community that rallies together to support such a worthy cause.
